What is the Hearing Services Program?

The Australian Government Hearing Services Program (HSP) aims to reduce the impact of hearing loss by providing eligible people with access to hearing services and hearing aids.  Neurosensory is accredited under the Program to provide hearing services to eligible pensioners and veterans.


What is Included in the Program?

Hearing services may include

  • a comprehensive hearing assessment
  • access to a wide range of high-quality hearing aids by leading manufacturers
  • advice and guidance on how to get the most benefit from your hearing devices
  • ongoing hearing tests, hearing aid adjustments and advise on how to optimize your hearing and communication ability
  • access to an optional annual maintenance agreement where, for a small fee, you receive repairs and batteries to support your hearing device

What hearing aids are available in the Program?

High quality hearing aids and assistive listening devices are available at no cost.  These include both the latest in-the-ear and behind-the-ear devices. You may also choose to contribute to the cost to obtain a more premium hearing aid/s.

Am I eligible for the Program?

You are eligible if you are an Australian citizen or permanent resident, 21 years and older, and either:

  • A Centrelink Pensioner Concession Card holder
  • A Department of Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card holder
  • A Department of Veterans’ Affairs White Card (hearing specific condition) holder
  • A dependent of a person in one of the above categories, or
  • A member of the Australian Defence Force
